About
My grandmother Clementina taught me the first chain ...
My mom Irianna the flower, to learn all the crochet stitches.

The necklace I'm wearing is called 'Ballerina'.
I was inspired by Picasso's 'Femme acrobat'. It is part of a collection of 40 woolen crochet collars, which is titled
'Forty Collars', 2011, which takes inspiration from
Treatise on Painting by Leonardo Da Vinci:
The circles of the branches of the sawn trees show the number of their years, and which were wetter or drier, according to their greater or lesser thickness. And so they show the aspects of the world where they were aimed ... '

I have an artistic background.
I am an art teacher and a graduate
at the State Art Institute of Bologna.
I then attended here
at the Academy of Fine Arts,
some courses including:
'Special graphic techniques'
by the artist Maurizio Osti,
'Painting' with the Artist Mario Venturelli e
'Photography with Prof. Claudio Marra.
BI-BI font, type design, Elena Gigli 2021

I drew this font with inspiration
to the embroidered initials 'BI'
cross stitch, in my mother's kit,
on a ciripà of cloth woven by his grandmother,
that as a child I used to
play with dolls.

And this is the font I drew with
the LOVE COMMAND logo.
In the crochet legend,
the cross is the low point symbol.
